Southampton’s trip to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday for the Premier League clash against Arsenal didn’t quite go to plan and there was no repeat of the first leg and our unexpected result on that day.

Arsenal had a two goal lead inside of the opening 20 minutes of the first half and despite some good chances and significant improvement in the second period, that was where the scoring ended on the day leaving manager Ralph Hasenhuttl to pick out some positives from another defeat.

Statistics websites Whoscored didn’t have great player ratings for the side after that match, but centre-half Jan Bednarek did take the top score with 7.08 to secure Man of the Match.

Fullback Matt Targett followed closely on 7.07 but they were the only two players to get into the sevens. Completing the top five best performers on the day were Oriol Romeu (6.82), Yan Valery (6.78) and Jannik Vestergaard (6.56). Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg also polled 6.56 to tie in last place.

Fulham is now very much a must win.
