Just under 2% of Southampton FC was purchased this morning for £253,000.
The news was released to the London Stock Exchange, with the Echo speculating that it could be former chairman Michael Wilde.
Michael Wilde has an option to purchase 348,000 shares from current PLC board directors Brian Hunt and Keith Wiseman which ends today.
