Saturday’s clash between Southampton and Bournemouth turned into a six goal thriller, with Premier League safety riding on the result for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Playing out a 3-3 draw with the game ebbing and flowing in both directions, ultimately for us, the point was enough to secure our top flight status for another year so fans could relax and the club can now start planning properly for the future.

With goals on the day coming from Shane Long (who keeps his own recent form going), James Ward-Prowse and Matt Targett we obviously had some strong performances on the day from the players, but statistics website Whoscored handed their Man of the Match rating to Republic of Ireland international Long as he picked up a score of 8.22.

Completing the top five on the day were Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (8.17), JWP (7.68), Yan Valery (7.67) and Danny Ings (7.59).

Targett also received a seven plus score for his efforts in the second half as he came on as a substitute.

Finish the campaign strongly now and let’s see where we can go under the impressive Hasenhuttl.
