With the Premier League’s final round of fixtures on Sunday bringing the curtain down on the 2018/19 campaign, Southampton welcome already relegated Huddersfield Town to St Mary’s Stadium, the side have been linked with a new striker this week – Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Nothing is riding on the game for either side as we’ve already secured our top flight status given our relegation worries, but manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will be hoping to end the season with another win to give us some momentum for next year as fans are expecting plenty of incomings and departures over the summer.
Mitrovic has been a success at Championship level, but he hasn’t really set the Premier League alight with either Newcastle United or Fulham during his spells with them, but with Fulham relegated it’s obvious that as a big name signing he features on the rumour mill.
The report seems to emanate from the Express but their claim that we will offer £30million for him seems absolute pie in the sky and I’m not alone.
i Wouldnt want Mitrovic, especially for upwards of £30M. Better players out there for less who fit our system a whole lot more. ???? #SaintsFC

Aren’t you supposed to get relegated players cheaper? £30m for Mitrovic is crazy. What happened to Che Adams? #Saintsfc

Mitrovic is a good striker, paying £30m would be a bit too much. #saintsfc

Seems to be lots of Mitrovic to #saintsfc for £30m rumours lately, let's hope it's just rumours, never in a million years is he worth anywhere near that!

Mitro is a decent striker but 30m is a joke. No way we'll pay that after spending 16m on Ings too
