Nigel Adkins has bemoaned the mad 15 minute spell against Everton which cost us the game, after a bright start.

Speaking to saintsfc following the Everton game, Adkins said.

‘If you look at the way we started, I thought we were very good. I thought we could get at Everton and we wanted to be on the front foot, it was a good goal from Gaston but, after 25 minutes they have gone score, so the Goodison roar went up and Everton got themselves on the front foot. For that 15 minute spell it’s fair to say it was hard to contain them.’

Again though Adkins is taking the positives from the game pointing out that if Ramirez had taken his other chance and made it 3-2 we could well have got back into the game, but our overall performance, passing, and attacking desire was exactly what he wants us to keep at. It’s just the quality in the final third, and on the final ball we have to make count.
