Nigel Adkins was openly honest about his job security following the West Ham loss.

Speaking to the Daily Echo when asked how long he thought he’d be given to turn our results around, Adkins answered.

‘Honest answer? I don’t know. That is football, I’m being brutally honest with you. There is a vision at the club to play a certain brand of football, there needs to be stability at any club, which is important. But I’m not naive as it’s football and football is a results driven industry.’

Nigel sums up our position quite well really, and something everybody can see.

‘You’ve got to keep it out at one end and stick it in at the other end. On too many occasions this year, we’ve not kept it out of our net.’

Sounds so simple doesn’t it, yet we seem incapable of changing it at the moment.

  • based on the job he has done since joining you, I think he deserves your full backing. This season has been a big step up for him as well, and I am confident that he will learn from this experience as much as the players and be all the better for the experience

  • Yup I’m in that camp aswell, steep learning curve for everybody, and if the worst happens and we do go down (which I don’t think we actually will), Adkins and the squad will have learnt so much to make a better crack at it next time. Maybe I’ll feel differently around the New Year lol, but we are only a few games in so it’s too early to write us off.
