With one week left in the summer transfer window as Southampton head towards the big kickoff against Burnley as we open the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, plenty of fans will be hoping for another addition or two – and we’ll also be hopeful of shedding a few players that are known to be available and goalkeeper Fraser Forster has now been linked with Liverpool.
Alex McCarthy was linked with Jurgen Klopp’s side earlier in the window but that speculation quickly went quiet, and as we ticked into August, The Daily Mail stated that although a deal wasn’t guaranteed, they believed that Klopp wanted the 31-year-old for cover.
With a number of deals going through between both clubs in recent years (much to the annoyance of fans), given how Forster lost his form and fell out of favour, plenty would now be happy to see this transfer come off as he is one of the bigger earners on our wage bill given the bumper contract we handed him.
Finally a Southampton to Liverpool transfer I can get on board with.
Never going to happen tho.

Please, you’re welcome.

They’re not going to offer him anything like he’s used to – from his point of view, he may as well sit on the bench here ( or not) and take his money- human nature
