‘All support’ – Saints fans react to international nomination for player

|

Southampton winger Moussa Djenepo has made the shortlist for Africa’s best youth player for 2019 and will come up against 15 other players.

Djenepo represents Mali at the international level and has made eight appearances and scored two goals for his country in 2019, form which has seen him nominated for the award.

The 21-year-old joined Southampton from Standard Liège over the summer and it was his form for the Belgian side which persuaded the Saints to buy Djenepo as he scored eight goals in 32 games last season.

Saints fans have been reacting positively to the news of Djenepo’s inclusion for the African youth player of the year award.

Some fans were even thinking forward about Southampton’s next fixture against Watford and questioned whether the young winger would be starting the Saints’ next match. Djenepo has only made four Premier League appearances for Southampton this year.

Saints fans are pleased with their new signing and his international achievements. However, many fans would like to see more of the talented player in the coming weeks as Southampton have a run of important fixtures coming up.
