Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed yesterday via the club’s official website that Jan Bednarek, who has played every minute of Premier League football since the arrival of the Austrian as stats from Transfermarkt show, could be out for tonight’s fixture against Palace with an Achilles injury.
Is the defence the number one area Ralph must improve this window?
Yes, we leak in too many goals
No, things are starting to turn around for us
The Polish defender is likely going to be a big loss for the Saints, and lots of supporters on social media have been voicing their opinions as to who could come into the XI and replace the 23-year-old centre-back, with the majority of fans picking players who don’t even play for the club to keep Jannik Vestergaard out of the first-team picture.
Here’s what plenty of Southampton fans had to say on Twitter about the matter…
Anyone but Vestergaard

Three points tonight could see Saints climb to as high as ninth in the Premier League table, overtaking Palace as well as the likes of Arsenal and Everton.
