Are Saints Now In Pole For Victor?

With so many twists and turns already made it seems with Cardiff pulling out of the Victor Wanyama chase Saints are favourites to finally get him. But are we?

We have made a bid which Celtic accepted, and then spoke to player/ player’s agent where a deal failed to occur due in main we are led to believe because of greed from the agent.

If this is the case why should we still fancy our chances? Is it because others feel that our bid is too high and therefore leaves no space for negotiating wages, etcetera.

We know that Mauricio likes the player and thus must believe he will be good for the club. With a possibility that we are now the only bidders is there a chance we will finally get our man?

Talking to BBC Rado Solent Mauricio said, ‘We are very interested in Wanyama and we will see how it progresses,’ He added, ‘He isn’t the only player we are looking at though and we are expecting to hopefully advance in negotiations with other players.’

All sounds rather hopeful more than certain but does show that we are trying hard to bring quality in.
