At A Reported £20million Southampton Won’t Move For Everton Man

|

During the buildup to this weekend’s Premier League clash between Southampton and Everton at St Mary’s Stadium, it was being reported that manager Ralph Hasenhuttl had more than a passing interest in opposition winger Ademola Lookman.

Goal originally made the suggestion given his lack of game time (starts) at Goodison Park, and it hinged mainly on the fact that Hasenhuttl worked with the England Under 21 international last season during their spell together at RB Leipzig.

It didn’t really sound anything more than lazy rumour mill speculation and I see no reason for that to change with Sun journalist Alan Nixon claiming it would take a fee of £20million to secure a deal.

For a start that’s less than Everton rejected over the summer from Leipzig as they continues their chase for him – they wanted to hold out for £27million apparently. For a second, there’s no way we’re spending that kind of money this month in my humble. Thirdly, with the likes of Jake Hesketh and other youngsters capable of, hopefully, giving us a different attacking option, surely we’d test them out first.
