Southampton Chairman Ralph Krueger has spoken about the capture of Charlie Austin and the remainder of the January transfer window.

With Southampton announcing the signing of former Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin this morning ahead of the game against West Bromwich Albion, it was known that the 26 year old had signed a four and a half year contract and that had he had come in for a bargain fee of only £4million.

Austin hasn’t played since December 15 owing to a hamstring injury though, so he might not be seen soon on the team but that will be up to Koeman and the medical staff.

Speaking about the move to the media, Krueger was very much on board with it being a statement signing, showing that Southampton wanted to finish the season strongly.
