Leon Best has ended his loan spell at League One Yeovil Town and has returned to Southampton.

He picked up his tenth goal in a Yeovil shirt against Bournemouth last night and manager Russell Slade praised the Southampton striker in the Western Daily Press: ‘I’m delighted for Leon and I’m glad he’s got into double figures, which is a fantastic achievement during his loan spell, we shall miss him, obviously, because he’s been a tower of strength for us, not only because of his goals but because of his work ethic.

‘He’s been there for the Yeovil cause and hopefully one day we’ll get the opportunity to bring him back to Yeovil.’

Best will now hope that is form is rewarded with a spell in the Southampton side otherwise he will be looking for another spell on loan, possibly returning to Bournemouth for a second spell alongside Saints striker David McGoldrick.
