Over the weekend Bryn and Sheila celebrated 60 years together as man and wife. Meeting through a friend of Sheila’s, they stayed in touch when Bryn went to India, whilst serving in the Army, for three months. They had been courting when Bryn was a player at Forest. Upon transferring to Saints Bryn realised that he missed and loved Sheila.

Bryn now 84 didn’t realise how much he cared for Sheila until his transfer. When he knew Sheila felt the same they arranged their wedding. They have been together since and Bryn spent 10 years with the Saints as a midfielder playing some 250 games.

The midfielder who thinks the Saints best two ever players are Terry Paine and Matt Le Tissier is still a happy man. He has something that money can’t buy. A loving relationship based on good health, laughter and appreciating each other. After Bryn left the Saints they ran an off licence in Waterloo Road together for 37 years. Even now they still work as they run their ofice cleaning company from home.

Bryn still watches games when he can. He goes in the ex players hospitality suite. Of the current crop of players he says that his favourite at the moment is Ricky Lambert. Bryn also feels that Saints have to much to do to make the playoffs this season. He does think that if we can keep this squad together we will have a great chance next season.

Bonne Anniversaire.
