Saints gaffer George Burley has spoken ahead of the trip to Coventry.

He told the official site about injury doubts Surman and Wright:’We have a couple of doubts. I would think Drew should be OK but Jermaine is only 50-50.

He will travel and we will see how he is tomorrow but he has been tremendous in the last two games.’

He then mentioned Djamel Belmadi: ‘It was a gamble to use him because he had been out for a long time and had not even had a Reserve game.

But he looked so sharp and so good in training that I decided to bring him off the bench and it was good to see him back in action.’

While finished discussing Southampton attacking options: ‘Greg was rested because he has had a lot of games recently including internationals and I wanted to look at the partnership between Marek Saganowski and Kenwyne Jones.

Two big lads are sometimes not ideal but it is horses for courses and the good thing is I now have plenty of options.

‘Bradley Wright-Phillips came on and did really well but I though Marek and Kenwyne combined well together.

Marek has good movement and likes to play off a big lad and he might well have scored with a couple of good opportunities.

‘Kenwyne is bang in form with six goals in his last four games. He has power and strength and can certainly get a few more goals.’
