Saints Skipper Claus Lundekvam is on course to be fit for the Championship season opener against Crystal Palace, after recovering well from an ankle injury sustained in the last league game of last season.
The big Norwegian centre half, who has made over 350 appearances for the club, is however likely to miss the pre-season tour of his homeland Norway in order to be fit for the campaign.
He is also confident of his team`s chances next year. He told the Daily Echo, ‘We’re looking for a minimum of another top-six finish so hopefully we can keep hold of most of the players we have so we can build on what we did last season.’
