Right back Nathaniel Clyne has said he’s looking forward to pushing his international career forward after making his step into the Premiership.

Speaking to saintsfc as he celebrates another call up to the England U21 side, the new signing said.

‘We’ve got two games, this is my third time being called up and it’s nice to be selected again. I’m very ambitious, you can take steps up the ladder though, you don’t have to go straight to the top. I want to be playing at the highest level, competing for titles and medals. I want to push for the England first team and if I work hard in training it could happen.’

Saints have seven players away on international duty. James Ward-Prowse, Danny Fox (although I believe he’s withdrawn), Gaston Ramirez, Steven Davis, Maya Yoshida and Emmanuel Mayuka.
