Well according to the press the deal has already been signed and Nathaniel Clyne will be winging his way to Old Trafford over the summer and we’re set to get Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez in return.

I’m not sure who has the exact exclusive here, but most seem to credit Mirror journalist David McDonnell who was speaking on MUTV, so make of that what you will, I’m not one to cast aspersions on the quality of red top journalism but I do happen to remember last summer and more guff blowing than politicians at election time after a hearty meal.

Google is a friend.

‘From what I’m told it’s a done deal.’

And yes he was speaking on MUTV so would United sanction that kind of announcement this early on their own channel?

McDonnell apparently has a good record of being right with United so maybe he’s the exception to the red top rule? We’ll soon find out with so few games left now this campaign.

In a curious twist of ethics and accuracy, other reports say that United are still one of several interested in his services, and in fact no deal has been rubber stamped.

Expect all of them to be reporting the polar opposite to what they have led with so far today by the end of the evening or tomorrow morning.
