Colchester sit 4 points behind Southampton and will be looking to reproduce last seasons result when they picked up three points.
Southampton will be desperate to get the defeat at Walsall out of their system and will also be after the victory.
Both sides are in the fight for a top six place and I can see this being a very hard fought game.
After coming on as a substitute in the last game, Colchester could give Steven Gillespie a start.
Neither Brian Wilson nor Magnus Okuonghae are likely to be ready for the game.
Midfielder John-Joe O’Toole also came on as a sub last time out and could be ready for a start.
The keeper will need to be on his toes as he faces a team that isn’t scared to shoot.
Saints injury list has grown recently though it is hoped that Guly will be available to return.Oxlade-Chamberlain is carrying a slight strain and may be forced to miss out.
Adam is due a super show and hopefully we will see him at his best.
Recent matches have Colchester holding sway over Southampton, winning twice and drawing the other meeting. Overall the stats show Colchester winning 5, drawing 4 and Southampton winning 4.
