In Tuesday evening’s End of Season Awards ceremony at St Mary’s Stadium, there were a number of notable and deserving winners on the night, but Nathan Redmond thoroughly deserved his Southampton double following his further improvement this season, especially since the arrival of new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The 25-year-old versatile attacker has made 39 appearances during the 2018/19 campaign and he’s chipped in with eight goals and four assists as we battled to safety in the Premier League and he lifted both the Players’ Player of the Season gong and the Fans’ Player of the Season award.

Speaking at the event, Hasenhuttl told saintsfc.

“I think Reddy is one of the guys who has improved and he knows he can be the special one to make a difference in games. I see the passion in his eyes and that’s exactly what we need to make the next step.”

Elsewhere in the awards, Yan Valery took Young Player of the Year following his maiden campaign and he also picked up Goal of the Season for his effort against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Terry Paine’s President’s Choice Award went to James Ward-Prowse and Academy Player of the Year went to Will Ferry for his efforts at both Under 18 and Under 23 levels.
