Jack Cork has said he’s delighted he now has the chance to face Chelsea having spent over a decade at the club as a lad.

Speaking to saintsfc ahead of the FA Cup tie, Cork said.

‘I’m just looking forward to playing against them really as I never got the opportunity to play with them whilst I was there. I’d love to play, it’s a shame it’s not at Stamford Bridge, hopefully the gaffer will pick me.’

Cork has no real regrets from his time at Chelsea and harbours no ill will despite not making a competitive appearance, he just looks on it as a very good place for him to have learnt and developed given the players who surrounded him on the training pitch.

‘One of the main things that sticks in my head was Didier Drogba pulling me aside and giving me advice on how to play against him and bigger players, so just having people around like that who have done so much in the game was great and has been invaluable to me. They’re players you can look up to as great professionals so it was good to be in and around them.’
