Southampton travel to Coventry for the second time this season. On the last visit Saints managed to score 4 times in winning by 4 goals to 2.
Saints began well and opened up a two goal lead before allowing Coventry back into the game. With the game all square at two apiece Saints rallied, and struck twice to run out winners.
If this game comes even close to that one at least the fans will have seen a game that is open and exciting. Though with talisman Lambert suspended and Saints in a dire run of form, the Sky Blues may actually fancy their chances of reversing the scores and gaining a win.
It is possible that the Sky Blues could be unchanged from Monday’s narrow defeat to West Ham. Much of the side also played in the recent revival in fortunes, that saw them collect two wins over the Christmas period.
Jutkiewicz is an ex Saint and he hurt us when he scored in the last game and is on a good scoring run.
Rickie Lambert is suspended but Morgan Schneiderlin is likely to return. It is possible that some of the fringe players may get a game.
Adam hasn’t really played well of late but he has the talent to produce the goods at any time.
Mr Colin Webster officiates.
Mr G. Stott and Mr G. Russell assist.
The Fourth Official is Mr. J. Farries.
I anticipate a close game and suggest 1-2 as the final outcome.
