Crunch Time

Southampton captain Claus Lundekvam has declared that this week is crunch time for the Saints.

The skipper feels that over the last few weeks the squad has let it self down and the supporters down by failing to pick up the results needed to stay in the promotion frame.

Claus told the Echo: ‘We’ve taken a bit of a hit in recent weeks where I feel we’ve let ourselves and our supporters down.

‘We’ve had a good chat about it and now it’s time to have a good, hard look at ourselves and hopefully we can all realise now this is crunch time.

‘We have to bounce back after two really disappointing defeats.

‘We have two home games in three days – and nothing less than six points is good enough’
