Dead Player Booked For Diving

Goran Tunjic, who was thirtytwo years old,collapsed in the 35th minute in a game for his club side mladost FC against HrvatskiSokola.

The referee of the County League match approached the player brandishing his yellow card. Unfortunately the player having suffered a fatal heart attack was in no position to complain.

The referee quickly realised what had happened and called for the medics to help the player. He was rushed to the nearest hospital which was close by but to no avail.

A club spokesman for Mladost FC said that the doctors tried all that they could but were unable to bring him back.

The player, Goran Tunjioc had no medical history prior to this collapse. ‘he just fell dead on the spot’, he said.

Not wishing to make light of such a srious incident but how long would it take some of our referees to spot how serious the collapse was? If it had been his second booking, how long would the referee had waited before realising all was not well?
