Not many clubs can endure the festive period without losing one game, but for Southampton, the past few weeks have proven to be a huge turning point in their goal to escape the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Happy with that start to 2020, boss?

The Saints claimed three wins and a draw in their four festive fixtures that saw the south coast side climb to 12th in the Premier League table, taking them five points above the relegation zone as well as five points off the Europa League spots in the division.
It has been an unbelievable turnaround for Southampton, and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has been key to the club’s recent resurgence up the league table, and lots of Saints supporters on social media have been quick to lavish the Austrian coach with praise following a season-changing few games.
Here’s what Southampton fans had to say on Twitter about Hasenhuttl…
Absolutely deserves to be smiling again. What incredible character to come back after the result that shall not be spoken of. Fair play, get that man a pint

Great Xmas period…Stephens, McCarthy, Armstrong and Ings have really stood up when we’ve needed leaders on the pitch..let’s get a few in Jan and keep momentum going
— Mark Said (@HolgateMJ) January 2, 2020
Fair play everyone. At the end of Nov I would have not backed us getting 25 points all season, but to be there on 1st Jan! Team has stood up as individuals and as a collective, last two home games totally unrecognisable to what came before.

Well done lads! Cracking form!

That’s a better face than the defeated one we saw a month ago Ralph! Whatever your doing keep at it!

The Saints will have to wait two weeks for their next Premier League fixture in which they travel to Leicester City, the side that beat Southampton 9-0 earlier in the season.
