The Saints U-23 side last night competed in the EFL Trophy group stages against League Two side Forest Green Rovers, and like most Premier League youth sides competing in the competition, Southampton found themselves on the losing side of the match, falling to a 3-2 defeat.
As expected, fans were disappointed to see the development team lose with Southampton having one of the best youth systems in England, and supporters took to Twitter to criticise the U-23’s performance against Forest Green.
