The Saints announced on their official Twitter account that first-team players and staff will be donating their wages from Friday to the Saints Foundation, the clubs charity that aims to help members of the local community through pushing them towards a healthy lifestyle as well as giving them the tools to help them in life.
The classy gesture was met with widespread praise from Southampton fans, who believed the club had done the right thing to give back to the community following one of the darkest day’s in the Saints recent Premier League history, and supporters on social media were delighted with the move.
