Saints have confirmed that Yoann Folly has left St Marys to return to Sheffield Wednesday, the club he was on loan at last season.

The holding midfield player has joined the owls for an undisclosed fee on a one year deal.

The player, who struggled for a regular starting place under Harry Redknapp and George Burley, was a frequent starter when Paul Sturrock was in charge at St Marys.

Now it seems that Folly is eager to link up with his former mentor. He was clearly delighted with the move and told Wednesday World:

‘ I am very pleased, I have been waiting for this all summer and I’m really happy that it has finally happened.’

Folly is the second player to leave St Marys this week with keeper Paul Smith also departing.
