27-year-old Southampton fullback Cedric Soares’ time at St Mary’s Stadium has long appeared to be up after a fall in his own form and late on in the January transfer window he made the switch out to Inter Milan on a loan spell, but it appears he may be set for a return to former club Sporting Lisbon.
We signed the Portuguese international from them back in the summer of 2015 for a reported £4.7million but you wouldn’t imagine we will now make much of a profit on him, as the spell at Inter hasn’t been a great success.
Outlet A Bola claimed over the weekend, that Sporting were now weighing up a deal that would see him return.
There isn’t much bulk to the rumour from what I can tell, but with his future with us clearly in doubt given the emergence and form of Academy graduate Yan Valery, with him knowing Sporting well, it could be seen as the best chance for him to find his own form once again.
