Southampton hearts were broken a few years back when Adam Lallana was one of the exodus to Liverpool and the manner of his departure certainly cut deep. Lallana himself has spoken since talking about his regrets as to how he departed for Anfield, and each summer since there has been speculation about a potential St Mary’s Stadium return with injuries hitting, and the spell not quite going how he would’ve liked.
This summer is no different, especially in light of the 31-year-old again struggling for real game time and he doesn’t appear to be in Jurgen Klopp’s plans moving forward even when he has been fit.
The Daily Express via the Daily Echo have claimed that Lallana has now told friends he expects to depart this summer and he’s very open to a return – a fee of around £13million is referenced.
With obvious injury worries, £13million seems a little steep for me, but I can imagine fans will be mixed once again as to whether we should even entertain a return for him.
