The Three Lions ran out 7-0 winners against Montenegro in their EURO 2020 qualifier that saw England 5-0 up at half-time in a win that marked the nation’s 1,000th international fixture in stunning style, as well as ensure Gareth Southgate’s side a place in next summer’s European tournament.

Yet despite the big win, some Southampton supporters on social media were quick to draw comparisons with England’s win to their thrashing from Leicester a few weeks ago, with fans quick to feel for Montenegro after the pain they were inflicted on by the Foxes.
