Every Southampton fan seems to have one fond memory from the old Dell stadium, and for supporters who were lucky enough to watch the Saints during their tenure at the ground, they were witnesses to some of the most frantic games in the club’s history.

And when Liverpool rolled into town on this day 26 years ago, the Dell was the arena for just one of these games as Southampton claimed a mightly impressive 4-2 win over the English footballing giants, with Matt Le Tissier bagging a hat-trick on the night which included a sensational hit from distance.
