Hasenhuttl Explains Which Southampton Player Is “Always Itching To Go” As We Prepare For Wolves

|

With Southampton continuing their preparations for this weekend’s Premier League clash with high flying promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers at St Mary’s Stadium this weekend, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has revealed a boost for our first team squad.

Having returned from injury in the game against Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of March, on loan Liverpool attacker Danny Ings missed out against his parent club owing to the terms of his season long spell with us, but he more than comes back into our Austrian gaffer’s thoughts for Saturday’s action.

Speaking to saintsfc as he met with the media for his pre-game press conference, Hasenhuttl stated that Ings was raring to go and our only injury concern continues to be midfielder Mario Lemina who is yet to return to full training with the group.

Outside of the long term Michael Obafemi obviously.

“We have Ingsy back who can play at the weekend. Mario Lemina is still injured and he cannot train with the team at the moment. Ingsy is always itching to go, he is always with energy and he trains very hard. He wants to come back into the team and to score again. Jannik Vestergaard made a good step in the game against Liverpool and he doesn’t have any problems so far. It was important for him that he got through such an intensive game without problems.”

Let’s hope the 26-year-old can quickly get back to his goalscoring form as the sooner we can mathematically avoid the drop, the more comfortable we’ll all feel.
