With the suggestion that Southampton would be injury free by roughly the middle of next week, it’s now being reported that midfielder and summer arrival Stuart Armstrong is now in line for a potential recall this weekend as we make the trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in our latest Premier League clash.

The Daily Echo reported yesterday that they believed both Armstrong and youngster Michael Obafemi were in line to return to manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans, even if it was only a place on the bench this coming Sunday.

As expected, the trip to Tenerife for our warm weather training camp with the lull in the fixture list sounds like it did these two the world of good in terms of boosting their fitness and workload as they came back from injury and Obafemi could also be massive given our shortage of strikers with injuries hitting.

We’ll have to see, but it would certainly be a boost.
