Hasenhuttl Remains “Convinced” Southampton’s Summer Signing Will Make His Mark After Slow Start

|

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has recently spoken about the form of striker Che Adams so far during the 2019/20 campaign, and our Austrian gaffer remains supremely ‘convinced’ that the summer signing will soon make his mark.

The £15million capture from Birmingham City impressed during the pre-season campaign, but with four top flight games under his belt, he’s yet to find the net in the Premier League, but plenty of fans will believe it’s only a matter of time given his performances and the fact he was always going to need an adjustment period as he settled in to both the club and the division.

Speaking to the Daily Echo recently when the subject of the 23-year-old came up, Hasenhuttl felt in some ways our new signing had been ‘unlucky’ so far when it came to being in front of goal.

“He is a little bit unlucky sometimes with his actions. The pre-season was much easier for him where he scored immediately and this gives you self-confidence. He is waiting and working hard and he didn’t score so far but I’m convinced about this guy. He’s a very positive guy and he needs a goal but when he works like this in the future it will come I’m sure.”

Four games in you certainly wouldn’t expect our gaffer to say anything else purely from a confidence and motivation point of view, and given Adams appears to be a confidence player in many ways, that first goal will be massive for him.
