With Southampton pre-season buildup continuing at pace with the weekend’s victory over Feyenoord, obviously manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is pleased with our progress and form so far.
Goals from Che Adams, Maya Yoshida and Sofiane Boufal gave us a 3-1 victory on Sunday and it was our fourth win in a row following earlier victories over Brentford, Preston North End and Guangzhou R&F.

With £15million summer arrival Adams again getting on the scoresheet in the game, prior to the match, fellow arrival Danny Ings gave an interview to the Daily Echo about the impression that the 23-year-old former Birmingham City striker had already made within the first team group, and Ings was incredibly positive about what Adams could achieve for us in the campaign of 2019/20.
“It’s been really good. He’s very strong, both mentally and physically. He is a great addition. He gives us something different and he is already scoring goals in pre-season. It can only be a positive for us moving forward.”
Ings also addressed the fact that they were slightly different players, but he felt there was nothing that would stop them forming a useful partnership up top.
With both players getting on the scoresheet during the pre-season warmup, confidence should definitely be high going into the new campaign with the big Premier League kickoff edging ever nearer.
