It was only the other week that Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was taking criticism following his sending off in the Premier League game against Leicester City for two bookable offences.
One of those included going down very softly indeed in the penalty box and as the youngsters say these days (I think) he got ‘pelters for it’ and plenty reflected on the 23-year-old Dane’s career at St Mary’s Stadium so far where consistency has been an issue for many.
Hojbjerg is now two starts shy of the 50 milestone for the club but with substitute appearances factored in he’s already broken that mark and with Leicester disappointment, he bounced back in the right manner by finding the back of the net in the recent victory over Crystal Palace.
Now we’ve got away from that stupid rotation system then yeah definitely…Problem is if he carries on playing well we will struggle keep him at the end of the season……again !!! ????

Always seem to have potential with pep giving him high praise. I think he has the atributes to be a top midfielder and saturday was probably one of the few times i have seen a complete performance from him. Hopefully our starting 11 is cementing itself now. #saintsfc

drop the stupid stuff like diving and waving arms around like Basil Fawlty when it isn't going your way and yes I think so.

The nipper is quality. I see him as our future captain.

That certainly turned to the tide back in his favour as the above social media comments show. As they also show he’s showed signs of what he can do, so if he can add consistency now and really build on that he could become the player plenty hope he will be – and then we’ll have other issues to contend with.
