How Stupid Are Us Football Fans

The money coming into the game is ridiculously large. £1.782bn (domestically)and £1.4bn (overseas) and all this as we sit in a major recession.

For many of us we have to go without other things so that we can enjoy following our various teams. For families it is almost impossible to afford the cost.

The Premier League has acted as concerns are strengthening over the inequality of the payments across the board. I suggest that these proposals make the situation even worse.

PremierLeague clubs on average get £40m each per season. This ia not even close to what the clubs below will earn.

Clubs relegated fropm the Premiership stand to have the present package of £22m over two years more than doubled. The proposal now is for £48m spread over four years.

Championship teams stand to have their allowance upped from £830,000 to £2.2 million per season. This being separate to the money given by the Football League from their broadcasting agreement.

However League One and Two clubs do not get even close to that with their handout from the Premier League. League One clubs would get £325,000 and League Two clubs would get £250,000.

Where the hell do these fat cats get off? The game in this country is under serious threat due in my mind to the vast differences now shown in equality.

There are millions of fans in this country who do not support one of the big, greedy, fat cats that we see on our televisions week in week out.

Chester City went out of business this season where a £1million could have made a radical change to their financial well being.

The list of clubs in financial difficulty is growing by the week almost if not actually. From the top to the bottom clubs have tried to compete and that has cost money.

The Football League must surely kick out this proposal today and tell the Premier League to think again. If we keep losing the smaller clubs their will be none left for the big boys to rob blind.

The fans money helps to keep these smaller clubs afloat but nowadays that is not enough. How many of these small town fans have kids who have become supporters of the big boys after seeing them time and time again.

How many times do we see kids who have no allegiance to these clubs shouting out a high profile football stars name, when playing at school, after seeing them all of the time playing on our screens?

The Premier League is the target for all clubs not currently in it, but why should the handicap be so great? The money has to be seen to be more evenly shared.
