“I Couldn’t Say No” – Hasenhuttl Finally Gets His Man But Arrival Video Steals The Show

With Southampton’s long chase for highly rated Birmingham city striker Che Adams coming to an end on Monday as we announced his capture, it’s certainly turned into a good weekend for fans looking for a bit more transfer business to fall into place.

Southampton’s Transfer Plans Come Together – One Departs & Two Arrive As The Hasenhuttl Express Finds An Extra Gear

The 22-year-old had a great season for the Midlands outfit last season, helping himself to 22 goals in the 2018/19 Championship campaign and big things are expected from the lad as he steps up to the Premier League now.

With no fee being given to the move officially, most expect it to be in the reported region of £15million and if he settles quickly and hits the ground running, that could prove to be a bargain in the years to come and he has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has had to be patient here, but speaking to saintsfc as we announced his signing, he was rightly happy to get the deal over the line.

“Che fits the profile of player we want to bring to Southampton and is very driven to show what he can do at the highest level. We have been monitoring his progress for some time now. He has shown a desire to join us above all other clubs, which shows the positive reputation Southampton has built for developing young players. I am delighted to have signed Che and Moussa ahead of the start of pre-season. They are both young, dynamic players with the level of enthusiasm and hunger we are looking for that can help us improve as a team.”

Speaking himself, Adams added.

“I’m delighted that it has all gone through. There was interest in January but it didn’t quite go through but I’m happy now it has. You can see with the track history – the amount of young players they’re playing, the gaffer’s belief in the young players, the squad in itself – where the club is going to be. I want to be part of that. That’s something I noticed straight away. Even watching from the side when I was at Birmingham and I was watching Southampton play, I liked what Ralph did so when the opportunity came up I couldn’t say no.”

Onwards and upwards for the club once again hopefully.
