The weekend’s clash between Southampton and Chelsea carried it’s own headlines for obvious reasons as we lost out 3-0 on the day and our poor start to Premier League life in 2018/19 continues under manager Mark Hughes.

The annual observance and celebration, paying tribute to key figures and pivotal moments in the struggle against pointless and pathetic racism also goes further and points out the contribution made to mankind and our development of a species full stop, despite said racism.

With what we can all see going on with Brexit and that fallout, Donald Trump and the rise of the far right in Europe – maybe I shouldn’t be using this platform and a nod to Black History Month to make a wider point, but, those with no IQ will call this ‘fake news’ and live on in their bizarre warped world.

Like Bertrand, I’m just making a small nod of my own as surely we can ‘dream’ better than this!
