Mauricio Pochettino has said he may have to look at some U21s for the game against Stoke as injuries and suspensions hit our first team.

Speaking to saintsfc Pochettino admitted that Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw, Steve De Ridder and Vegard Forren have all missed training this week, and obviously we have Danny Fox and Gaston Ramirez suspended still for the game.

‘Luke has a virus, while Rickie has had a knock to his back for the last month. Hopefully they will recover for the game on Sunday. Perhaps today we will have more U21 players than senior players training because of those missing! Maybe we’ll give a few of the youngsters a chance.’

Poch does say that they’ll be no free rides for the youngsters if they are chosen, he’ll expect them to do a job because he’ll pick them thinking that they are capable of performing against Stoke, so it’s a case of if you get your chance, take it.
