It’s being reported that Nigel Adkins will return to Italy to secure the services of Philippe Coutinho.

The young Brazilian was hailed as the next big thing when making his debut for Inter Milan in 2010, but he’s become a peripheral player since, making only three appearances so far this season, and Milan could be tempted by £10million to get him off the wage bill and free up a shirt.

  • The list of our supposed targets keeps on growing. Think myself I would prefer to pay half the quoted price on Tom Ince or similar.

  • Agree, a lot seems to stem from the Ramirez capture I think. There won’t be much truth in a lot of players we are linked to, especially at these prices. If Inter think he’s worth £10million why isn’t he playing? Especially when we can get quality for less who at least won’t have to adapt to the country – we have to be careful about players who might take 3 months to bed in in this position. By all means buy for the future, but not at the expense of the now.
