It’s Official – Pardew Is Useless

Alan Pardew is a tactically inept and frankly useless manager with poor signings and poor tactical decisions, and it’s time we brought in someone else fast.

Before this ends in a lynch mob; let me profess that the above sentence is a summary of what a minority of supporters believe when it comes to the south coasts ‘special` one. Albeit a very small one.

I came across this minority of ‘supporters` on several official and unofficial Saints chat forums, perhaps they are merely wind up merchants, but it seems that there is still a section of supporters who follow the above statement to the letter.

Even the term ‘`Parfoot“ has become a regular nickname used by this minority. Sure Pards isn`t perfect but comparing him to Branfoot? That`s just daft, and quite insulting to any football manager!

The main argument put forward seems to be that he reverts to ‘hoof` ball and has brought in a brand of football that is horrible to watch. But have any of them considered our opposition? League 1 is hardly full of Arsenal style teams trying the odd step-over or 50.

When teams have everyone behind the ball and do nothing but defend, it comes a time where you have to play a more direct style of football which may be painful sometimes, but such is football!

It`s a good argument which would pose a good debate, but the credibility quickly deteriorates when you read some of the solutions. It`s as if some people have played football manager a little too much!

So who would the Anti-Pardew brigade turn to if they were the board of directors (A worrying thought)?

The majority of Anti Pardew supporters want someone who will play attractive football, quite ridiculous considering Pardew led us to scoring 10 goals in 2 games whilst leading us to a cup and strong league finish, not to mention scoring some absolutely cracking goals.

So, you would assume that the shortlist devised by the minority would be managers with some sort of reputation of playing attractive and attacking football. But instead it is the A-Z of ‘hoofball` veterans with Adrian Boothroyd leading the list of managers given the task of bringing attractive football to the south coast. Or the equally successful Micky Adams who is now in the highlight of his career managing lowly Port Vale.

Are the minority entitled to they`re opinions? Yes of course, seeming as this is more Northam than North Korea, but it is time that these people finally realised that for the first time in a decade, we have stability at our club with a unified board and a strong team, so why should we jeopardise that?

Lets not forget that we aren`t the only lower league club with the ‘dosh`, and there is an example in front of us in Q.P.R. which will show people what constant managerial changes can do.

They were near the bottom of the championship when the billionaires rolled in at Loftus Road, Luigi De Canio (the R`s boss) built a fantastic side and took them from championship strugglers to a good mid table outfit. But through impatience and wanting instant success, a new manager was drafted in? then another one, and another one.

Where are they now? Near the bottom of the championship, some £5million and 5 managers later mind you!

Pardew has won a cup trophy, he has built arguably THE best team in league 1, signed the leagues top scorer, but most importantly rejuvenated the hopes and dreams of Saint`s fans worldwide.

Not bad for a tactically inept and useless manager though, not bad at all?..
