Jay Rodriguez has thanked the fans for the welcome he has been given this season, and the constant support he’s received.

Speaking to saintsfc the big money signing said he had been delighted by the support he has received this season and he talked about how he wants to improve and add more goals to his game next time round.

‘The fans have been great, it’s a great stadium and we’ve got a good fan base so there’s been a great atmosphere every time we’ve played. We’re glad to have stayed in the Premier League and now we need to build on that. On a personal note, I’d have liked a few more goals, so that’s a target for next season.’

Following the Stoke draw, Rodriguez like many others, admitted it was a slightly frustrating way to end the season because the players wanted to go out on a win, but he thinks positives can be taken from the fact that ‘at least we didn’t get beaten’ which in games like that at the beginning of the season could’ve been the outcome.
