The Liverpudlian has settled quickly into life in Southampton and the team. He arrived on a short term contract from Norwich and was making the right back berth his own until injured.

The 27 year old confessed to monday’s matchday programme, ‘It was a huge setback. It was a big crowd, a great atmosphere and two of the biggest clubs in the division going head to head. Yet I barely had time to settle into it before I was injured.’

‘I need games to prove I can do a job here. The last thing I needed was an injury but now hopefully there’s still time to show that I have a future here.’

He went on to say how he was interested as soon as he heard that the Saints were in for him. He knew that Southampton had made progress but it wasn’t until he arrived here that he realised how much.

You feel that you are at a club that is moving in only one direction and that is up feels the right back. Something he would like very much to be a part of.

  • I am still not convinced by him. Admitted I have not been to many games recently but watching all our games on the player does show a lot.

  • I have not heard many people who think Semi is good enough to be our permanent right back. He is prone to memory loss and forgets what he is doing at times. He simply switches off and often at most unfortunate tiomes.
