Manager Ronald Koeman has told the media in his pre West Bromwich Albion press conference that he has some decisions to make when it comes to the starting eleven.

Having seen Southampton return to winning ways in the game against Watford in midweek, with Fraser Forster, Cedric and Graziano Pelle all returning from injury to play their parts in the match, Koeman also has Victor Wanyama back in contention following his suspension – so the question is stick or twist with the team.

Speaking to saintsfc in his interviews, the gaffer explained.

‘We have good competition in our squad at the moment and we are prepared for a tough one, but of course, the win against Watford gave the players a good boost. Sometimes there are difficult and tough decisions to make, but it`s better like this than you don`t have choices.’

With the performance of Oriol Romeu in Wanyama’s absence, Koeman admits he has a good few headaches in various positions in the team, but ultimately that’s exactly what he’s after.

‘That`s true, because what I mentioned before is that we have tough competition with the players in our squad. That means for the strikers, the defenders and also in midfield we have to make hard decisions. I try to make the best decision for the team.’

Talking about team news and decisions he doesn’t have to make, he went on to confirm that goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg won’t be passed fit in time for the game, so he is already ruled out.

‘Maarten is still out with his hamstring, but there are no other changes compared to last Wednesday. Fraser recovered well from his first 90 minutes in the first team, and of course the result and the clean sheet makes him proud and stronger. That`s all what you need.’
