According to Sky Sports News Southampton have begun negotiations with Mark Hughes over the vacant position as Southampton manager. Not before time as far as many of Southampton’s supporters will tell us.
West Ham have already apparently decided that David Moyes can leave. Everton also seem to have decided that Sam Allardyce should leave. Again it is rumoured that Marco Silva will be the next Everton Manager.
Chelsea are also looking at a change in their managerial staff. Tottenham’s former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino is a prospective candidate for their next leader.
Kruger on “perfect” fit Hughes: “We're in really good conversation. We began these conversations last week & they continue here, we will build on them"
Sounds like Mark Hughes is here to stay, what are your thoughts? I’d be over the moon considering recent managers #Saintsfc pic.twitter.com/bTR8yPHNW4

With a possible change of manager at Leicester City as well, I feel Southampton will have to move swiftly if they want to get their man. Having so many clubs disposing of their managers’ I am concerned that some may be casting their eyes on the man us Saints fans want to continue guiding our players.
It’s fair to say, looking at the basic statistics there is room for doubt over his worthiness. However, for those that have seen how poorly our team had been playing prior to the arrival of Mark Hughes the choice is simple in reality.
Give Mark the job and leave him to get on with it without any interference from the board. His stats say we won 2 league games, drew 2 and lost 4. They don’t show that three were against top 5 sides. Neither do they show the way that the referee allowed Chelsea back into the game when we were leading 2-0 and Marcos Alonso ordinarily should have been sent off.
The team grew in stature with each match that they played, and as they grew to understand how Hughes wanted them to play. He gave us fight and an appetite to perform. The change from a soft-bellied team, playing slow sideways passes and with safety first seemingly the priority, under Hughes we became an eager, hungry side searching to win. The change was dramatic, albeit not overnight.
Yes, there may be better managers out there on paper but right now all that I want is to hear that Mark has signed a two or three-year deal to keep him here so we return to some stability and we should then see the benefits of that.
Lurching every season to a new manager hasn’t helped, maybe this time we stick instead of twisting and give the Welshman a proper crack at things and a preseason to work on obvious issues.
Im very happy with Hughes staying, just not happy with Krueger staying.

He’s a good fit for #saintsfc atm. We need a motivator and someone who can communicate clearly with the players. The way he’s dealt with Boufal shows he is the man in charge, which is what we need

Put it this way – I'd be disappointed if Hughes doesn't get the job. He's the anti-Pellegrino and he's earned the chance to take us forward and build upon the platform he has given us.
I thought Reed dealt with all footballing matters Ralf?#saintsfc

Can’t stand Kruger! Any idiot knows Hughes is the perfect fit, hell just make the whole saga cringeworthy ????
Be great news if MH gets the job early doors though.— D Rev 5 (@DanRev5) May 15, 2018

Damn right. Give him money and time and he’ll prove what he was trying to do at man city

When Hughes joined us he said that there was loads of players in the saints 11 he tried to buy when he was at stoke. Sometimes it’s not always on the managers it’s what goes on behind the scenes…

Exactly what we need and he proved doubters wrong big time

He kept us up, couldn't have asked for more. He earned this.

Fair to say there are some concerns and fans want to see further improvement from the man should he get the job.
needs to work on his defensive tactics,Stoke were poor at the back

This always was going to be the downside of him keeping us up; he'll get the job.

Still not convinced. I think he looked good because of Pellergrino, but let’s not forget that actually our squad is a decent Prem outfit. He’s good enough to keep us mid table definitely, just hope we play slightly more entertaining football as well ????⚪️????⚪️
