Southampton starlet Adam Lallana has committed his future to the club.

Lallana, 21, was seen to be Southampton’s most valuable player after Surman joined Wolves, but the England Under-21 international has said he would like to stay at St. Mary’s.

The completion of Saints’ takeover sees the club have a more stable financial situation, and players like Lallana are able to stay with the Hampshire club.

Speaking to the official website, Lallana said:’I want to build on my goals tally.

‘I got three last season so if I could get into double figures then that would be brilliant.

‘I’m 100% committed to Southampton, I’ve got two years left here and I’m definitely going to be here for at least the next year and hopefully a few more.’

  • Delighted if Adam stays, he is imho the most talented player at the club. Would also be good if we managed to keep John and Rasiak, thought they both did well as did Paterson – a very good front line indeed. I really believe that all of them would thrive under AP and give us a front line that would scare other L1 teams!

  • Yeah I totally agree SaintIan, Rasiak was amazing in the Champ a few seasons ago, and was impressive in his loan spell with Watford last season. I think Lallana and John will stay, but I have a feeling that Rasiak will be off.

  • I definitley think there’s goals in Lallana, John and Paterson. But if Saga and Rasiak both leave then we will definitely need another striker. I am keeping my fingers crossed that AP does the business and sweet talks Rasiak into staying – the sooner Saga goes the better!

  • The table makes sorry reading don’t it .. Not taking the ***** .. just looks bad.. but it’s only ten points most clubs have clawed there was out of that deficit .. You can do the same can’t ya ?

  • Yeah I think we can. People still think that we can reach the play-off’s despite being on -10. I think the start is very important, if we can get off to a good start, things will look brighter.
