New defender Dejan Lovren has said he will be at Staplewood earlier than the other players so he can get to know people, and the area so he can settle in more easily.
Speaking to saintsfc the 23 year old explained.
‘I think I will be here a few days earlier than the others because I need to know the people, the town and the players.’
He added that being young he was desperate to have his future resolved so he could kick on again, and doing the deal so early with Southampton means he’s now at ease and he can focus on the challenge ahead and adjusting to life at his new club.
‘This was my decision to take, and I think it’s a good choice. I think it will be great.’
He also says that he believes Southampton’s style of play will suit him and he thinks he’s ‘right for the team’ after having had good talks with Mauricio Pochettino.
