Claus Lundekvam has echoed the comments that Southampton have not picked up the results that their performances deserve.

While receiving praise from opposition managers and players sounds like a positive, it is actually just a frustration for Southampton fans who see seventh place in the division as simply not good enough.

Claus Lundekvam told the Echo: ‘But we’ve done that quite a few times this season against so-called top sides who are around us, we outplayed Preston first half and should have been well up but didn’t take our chances and then were hit by a sucker blow on the stroke of half time.’

  • If some team scores 3 against you it’s going to be hard to expect to win and complain about how well you played. 6 games with a 2-1-3 record is hardly impressive.
